Hospital First Receiver – Hebron

This 2 Day Course offers training and education to meet the needs of Hospital Decontamination Teams. This course provides hospital staff with an overview of hazardous response issues and the dangers of contaminated patients entering their facility, and provides attendees with prevention, preparedness, and response techniques to keep their hospital safe.
This course follows OSHA’s Best Practices for Hospital-Based First Receivers guidelines for Awareness and Operations level training*.
Through the course of this training, participants will learn about the roles of Hospital First Receivers versus First Responders, hazardous materials, routes of entry, and signs and symptoms of contaminated patients. Participants will also learn the proper way to don and doff PPE, including powered air purifying respirators (PAPRs). They will map out decontamination zones, set up a tent and equipment and participate in a wet exercise using volunteer mock victims.
Participants will be provided the skills and information needed to improve upon existing facility teams, as well as the opportunity to collaborate with regional partners.
The registration fee for this training is $35 for Nebraska residents. Out-of-State Participants are welcome, registration for non-Nebraska residents is $250.00
Lunch and breaks will be provided. Please wear comfortable clothes. Scrubs or capris are appropriate for the second day. This is a very interactive class. come expecting to participate in a variety of activities.
